WHO WE ARE

Steeped in history, the iconic landmark restaurant La Montagne Noire is a well known and established traditional French dining spot.

Famed for l’ecrevisse – crayfish, the restaurant was a tourist and local hotspot for the masses back as far as 1900! Here is an ancient postcard of the original dining room, advertising the speciality ecrevisse!

HISTORY

Luckily, we discovered another ancient photograph of the exterior, thanks to a local historian. A vintage automobile sets the scene here, outside the front gate of La Montagne Noire. The black and white image shows that the exterior hasn’t changed much!

FUTURE

We hope to one day reopen the hotel section of the building and bring back some of the former glory. We still have some renovation to do but it is something we aspire to in the near future. Stay tuned for that
